Refund & Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances change. Please review our refund and cancellation terms below.

Effective Date: May 2026

1. Overview

So-Rig Institute is committed to delivering high-quality education and a positive learning experience. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may require you to amend or cancel your enrolment. This policy outlines the conditions under which refunds or cancellations will be considered.

All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@soriginstitute.com.au. The date the written request is received by So-Rig Institute is the date used to determine applicable refund entitlements.

2. Long Courses & Diploma Programmes

Students enrolled in diploma-level or longer-duration programmes must pay the applicable course fees in advance to confirm their enrolment, as per the Fee Schedule. The following refund tiers apply:

2 to 10 business days before commencement 50% refund AUD $50 admin fee deducted
Less than 48 hours before commencement 25% refund AUD $50 admin fee deducted
After course commencement No refund Not applicable

* Admin fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from all applicable refunds.

3. Short Courses & Workshops

Cancellations and amendments to short course or workshop enrolments are subject to the following conditions:

More than 48 hours before course start Full refund Less AUD $20 administrative fee
Within 48 hours of course start (cancellation) 50% refund Less AUD $20 administrative fee
Within 48 hours of course start (reschedule) No refund, rescheduling only AUD $20 rescheduling fee applies
After course commencement No refund Not applicable

* Rescheduling is subject to seat availability and must be requested in writing at least 24 hours before the original course start time.

4. Amendment Policy

Students wishing to transfer to a different programme, intake date, or delivery mode may request an amendment subject to the following:

  • Amendment requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 business days before the commencement of the original programme.
  • Approval of amendments is subject to availability and is at the sole discretion of So-Rig Institute.
  • An administration fee of AUD $30 applies to all approved amendments.
  • If the revised programme carries a higher fee, the student must pay the fee difference before the amendment is confirmed.
  • If the revised programme carries a lower fee, the difference will be credited toward future fees or refunded, less the administration fee.

5. Programme Cancellation by So-Rig Institute

In the event So-Rig Institute cancels or significantly modifies a programme before commencement (due to insufficient enrolments, force majeure, or other circumstances beyond our control), enrolled students will be:

  • Notified promptly in writing.
  • Offered a full refund of all fees paid, or
  • Offered a transfer to an equivalent alternative intake or programme at no additional cost.

So-Rig Institute is not liable for any other costs, losses, or expenses incurred by students as a result of a programme cancellation or modification including travel, accommodation, or third-party arrangements.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a cancellation or refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Send a written cancellation request to info@soriginstitute.com.au with the subject line: "Refund Request, Your Full Name, Course Name".
  2. Include your full name, contact number, enrolment/application ID, and the reason for your cancellation.
  3. Our admissions team will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and advise you of the applicable refund amount.
  4. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days of confirmation and returned via the original payment method.

Please note that verbal or phone cancellation requests will not be accepted. All requests must be submitted in writing.

7. Non-Refundable Items

The following fees and charges are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Application and registration fees.
  • Administrative processing fees.
  • Course material or textbook fees (once materials have been distributed).
  • Assessment and certification fees (once submitted).
