Subcutaneous Injections for Diabetes Course
Refresh safe subcutaneous injection skills for participants who self manage or rely on support for diabetes.
Build confidence in safe, dignified enteral feeding support for participants using PEG, PEJ, or NG tubes.
Enteral Feeding Support is a one day refresher for support workers and carers assisting NDIS participants who receive nutrition or medication through a feeding tube. The course covers PEG, PEJ, and nasogastric devices, the principles of safe feeding, and the practical steps that protect skin integrity, airway safety, and participant comfort.
You will revisit hand hygiene, equipment checks, flushing routines, and the safe administration of feeds and medications when delegated by a registered nurse. Trainers guide you through common issues such as blocked tubes, leakage, and signs of aspiration so you can respond calmly. By the end of the day you will feel ready to deliver feeds confidently in home and community settings while keeping documentation clear and current.

Assessment is competency based throughout the day. You will complete short written checks on tube types and infection control, then demonstrate a full feeding routine on a clinical mannequin including hand hygiene, equipment checks, feed delivery, and documentation. A final case study confirms your ability to respond to a tube concern safely.
On successful completion you receive a So Rig Institute Statement of Attendance confirming your refresher in this skill area. The statement lists the topics covered, the date attended, and the trainer who delivered the session, and is suitable for inclusion in your professional development file.
We recommend a refresher every twelve months, in line with NDIS practice standards and most provider policies, so your skills, documentation, and incident reporting stay current.
